Council

The City of Halliday Commission acts as the legislative branch of our government, as well as its policy-making body. The Commission looks to our community's goals, major projects and infrastructure improvements ranging from community growth to land use to finances and strategic planning. The Commission's goal is to do the very best to represent their constituents after they've seen to the needs of the community as a whole.

In a city commission government, voters elect a small commission, typically, from five to seven members, on a plurality-at-large voting basis. These commissioners constitute the legislative body of the city and, as a group, are responsible for taxation, appropriations, ordinances, and other general functions.

The commission meets monthly on the 2nd Monday of the month, unless otherwise posted. All meetings start at 6:00 pm, at City Hall, 32 East Main Street, Halliday, ND.
